Detailed introduction is superfluous for the group formed by Ken Vandermark in Chicago in the spring of 1996. More an institution than a band, its lineup in the autumn of 2005 features the extraordinary talents of Dave Rempis, Kent Kessler, Fred Lonberg-Holm and Tim Daisy. True to the founding directive, Vandermark's charts remain tailored to the members' stylistic potentials, and allow them ample room to interpret the scores in their own unique ways.
